JOB SUMMARY
The Inventory Control Specialist plays a critical role in maintaining the efficiency and accuracy of the organization's supply chain operations. This position is responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of inventory managementincluding ordering, storage, receiving, and distribution of products and supplies. The role ensures that inventory levels meet operational demands without overstocking or understocking, ultimately supporting business continuity and cost-efficiency.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure alignment with operational requirements and avoid shortages or excess stock.
· Oversee the full inventory lifecycleincluding ordering, receiving, storing, and distributing products and supplies across departments or facilities.
· Conduct routine inventory audits and cycle counts to maintain accuracy in inventory records and resolve any discrepancies.
· Develop and implement inventory control procedures and best practices to optimize stock handling and minimize errors.
· Coordinate with procurement, warehouse, and logistics teams to ensure timely replenishment of materials and efficient product flow.
· Utilize inventory management systems to track inventory status, generate reports, and analyze usage trends.
· Identify slow-moving or obsolete inventory and recommend appropriate actions such as markdowns, disposal, or redistribution.
· Enforce inventory control policies related to security, handling, labeling, and storage to reduce shrinkage and loss. Support the development and implementation of loss prevention strategies, including investigating variances or irregularities.
· Assist in forecasting inventory needs based on historical data, seasonal trends, and operational forecasts. Prepare detailed inventory reports for management, including KPIs such as stock turnover, fill rate, and order accuracy.
· Participate in process improvement initiatives to streamline inventory operations and improve overall supply chain performance.
· Ensure compliance with internal standards and relevant regulations regarding inventory handling, storage, and documentation.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Proven experience in inventory management, logistics, or supply chain operations.
· Proficiency with inventory management software and ERP systems.
· Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
· Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
· Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
· Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy equipment and perform manual labor as required.
· Excellent bilingual oral and written communication skills

WORKING CONDITIONS
Conditions may require walking, stooping, climbing, pushing, pulling, heavy lifting (less than or equal to 50 pounds), bending, working in awkward positions handling equipment and materials.
To operate a vehicle at the customer’s site, employees must obtain an ABM drivers permit per the ABM Drivers Safety MVR registration program. This policy checks for a valid State ID along with a citation background check, and those with high risk driving habits will need additional driver education to obtain the permit.
