Experience:

• 12 months of role experience is required from last 3 months.

• 24 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience is required from last 3 months.

• 3 months of travel experience is required from any number of months.

• Experience with Cerner is required from any number of months.

• BSN completion preferred

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a District of Columbia license (required for submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <60 miles from facility will be processed as local.• Flu vaccination required after submission. Declinations not accepted.

Additional Details:

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

Manager may or may not interview. Clinician must be okay with this. If Clinician has questions, please email the AM.

Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend required

Float requirement: Required to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity.

Skills Req: MS/Tele, Tele, Cardiac Tele, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Telemetry -on the unit monitoring, Use of Rapid Response Teams, Feeding tube care and management, Pre/Post Hemodialysis Management, Renal failure, IV therapy/Phlebotomy, Heparin Protocols, PCA, CVA, Nasal Cannula, Oxygen face masks, Portable Oxygen tank, Tracheostomy Management, Isolation Precautions, Wound Care/Wound Vac

Skills Preferred: Charge Experience, Management of dysrhythmias, Spinal cord injury, Surgical drains, Chest tubes-Emerson/Pleur-evac, External CPAP/BIPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Non-invasive airway management

Scrubs: not specific. No outside care facility logos

This unit is a Medicine Telemetry Behavioral Health

May come into contact with Covid Patients

Return Staff Policy If a nurse has held previous employment with Medstar, must be gone for a minimum of 1 year to return as a traveler.

Must Provide Proof Of Pending Status At Time Of Submission And Must Have Dc License In Hand Prior To Start Date.

Shift: 3 or 4 x 12 Nights 1900-0700

Maximum days off: 7 days

2 references from last 12 months (Manager/Supervisor reference type) - required for submission
