POSITION SUMMARY:

The Associate Executive Director is responsible for the operation, supervision, and support of tween/teen programs in our School Partnerships Program. This includes overseeing teen program initiatives. The role ensures recruitment and retention, quality programming, fiscal and data management, evaluation, and grant compliance. The Associate Executive Director works collaboratively with funders, schools, communities, Family Centers, and internal Y stakeholders while upholding Y core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility across the following key result areas:

Essential Functions:

  • Develop goals aligned with the Y’s strategic objectives in collaboration with the Senior Executive Director.
  • Supervise, develop, and evaluate associates within the region.
  • Serve as Y liaison to school districts, supporting alignment with district strategies.
  • Oversee youth development programs, ensuring compliance, outcome measurement, and effective implementation.
  • Manage partnerships, fostering collaboration and engagement.
  • Work with external evaluators to develop metrics and data collection systems.
  • Maintain financial oversight, including budget management and internal controls for grant programs.
  • Identify and pursue funding opportunities to enhance programming.
  • Oversee programs such as Youth and Government, Y Achievers, and Leaders Club, providing career readiness, life skills training, social-emotional development, and paid internships for youth in the Next Generation Scholars program.
  • Manage the Youth Employment Program, including summer and school-year programming, internships, and workforce training with local business partnerships.
  • Ensure program data collection, evaluation, and grant compliance.
  • Represent the Y in school district collaborations and external partnerships.
  • Lead by example, fostering professionalism, accountability, and alignment with Y's core values.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION

  • Possess a bachelor’s degree in youth-related education, project management, business management, or a related field.
  • Master's Degree preferred.


EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in managing grant-funded outcomes-based youth development programming, including fiscal management, staff supervision, and multi-site management.

SKILLS

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent Problem-Solving skills
  • Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite and Google G Suite

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS, PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Physically able to complete required job functions, including use of hands, arms, fingers, able to talk and hear, use a computer, sit and stand, regularly move/lift up to 50 pounds, enter all Y environments (office spaces, indoor and outdoor maintenance/mechanical areas, fitness areas, pool and pool space, camping areas, unimproved outdoor locations and other program areas).
