Our Center for Medical Genomics currently has 12 genetic counselors that provide genetic counseling across multiple service lines, including oncology, prenatal, NICU, cardiovascular, neurology and adult services. The Center for Medical Genomics is currently recruiting for 1 Full-time Genetic Counselor to join our team. This position will be a split position between Genetics laboratory stewardship and as a float genetic counselor who will cover in the other areas when needed.
Our genetic counselors are responsible for conducting intake screening and risk assessment, explaining the nature and scope of testing procedures and following up with results. We also provide opportunities to teach and supervise residents, fellows, undergraduate students and graduate genetic counseling students. The genetic counselors also have opportunities to provide educational lectures to professionals as well as participate in community outreach. Educational enrichment is integral to the position with participation in journal clubs and case conferences.

Requirements: Master’s degree in Human Genetics/ Genetic Counseling, ABGC or ACMG Board certification or ABGC active candidate status and Delaware genetic counselor license or provisional license is required. Board certification by the American Board of Genetic Counseling is required for continued employment as this is a necessary requirement for licensure.
