Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

• 12 months of role experience is required from last 3 months.

• 22 months of Telemetry Unit experience is required from last 3 months.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Washington license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

Additional Details:

RTO must be listed at time of submission.

All positions at Providence Health & Services require that any and all lab items requested during onboarding be completed within 72 hours of signing a contract - no exceptions. This means candidates must be responsive and willing to go to a lab to complete health orders ASAP after signing. Failure to comply may lead to a pushed start or cancellation as assessed by the facility.

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years

If you have a multistate/compact nursing license, you will be required to complete a one time 6 hour suicide prevention training according to the WA state regulations. (Nursing positions only).

Perm candidates of any OTHER providence facility ( NON SWEDISH ) are eligible for a travel contract if they have been separated for at least 3 months. All Swedish facilities honor active compact license.

Patient Diagnosis: Stroke, TIA, NCCU step-down, post neurosurgery, CHF, chest pain, post cardiac procedures, EP Lab, Interventional, Pre/Post Procedural

SPEICAL PROCEDURES: - Post cardiac cath care including radial bands and groin sites - NIHSS assessment for stroke - Breathing Treatments, Chest Tube Set-up/Care, CPAP/BiPap, Trach Care - Blood/Blood Products Administration - Cardioversion / Defibrillation - Drains, Feeding Tubes, Fistula, PCA Pumps - PICC/Central Lines, Syringe Pumps, Triple Lumen Catheter - Wound Vac

SPECIAL EQUIPMENT: - REQUIRED: Stable drips, Dysrhythmia interpretation and management

Dobutamine, Heparin, Insulin, Milrinone, Nitroglycerin

SKILLS

Work Settings: - Telemetry - PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown

Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response: - Interpretation of dysrhythmias - Management of dysrhythmias

Cardiovascular: - Post Cardiac Angiogram - Pre/Post Cardiac Cath

Gastrointestinal - Feeding tube care and management

Genitourinary/Renal - Pre/Post Hemodialysis Management - Renal failure

IV therapy/Phlebotomy - Blood Product Administration - Central line care/management - Peripheral Line Care/Management - PICC line management - Starting IVs

MEDICATIONS - Heparin Protocols - Manage Cardiac drips- no titration - Titrate Cardiac drips

Neurological/Psychiatric - CVA, Pre/Post neurosurgery, Spinal cord injury (REQUIRED) - Traumatic Brain injury (PREFERRED)

Plastics -Surgical drains

Respiratory - Chest tubes-Emerson/Pleur-evac - Nasal Cannula - Oxygen face masks - Non-invasive airway management - Tracheostomy Management

Professional Topics and Skills - Isolation Precautions - Wound Care/Wound Vac

SKILLS: Stable drips required

Previous Charge Experience preferred

Scrubs: Navy

Transportation: Clinician must have reliable transportation; travel pairs require separate vehicles.

Scheduling: Facility scheduling needs must be met; special requests (e.g., block scheduling, late starts) will not be accommodated.

BLS, ACLS - Must be AHA (Instructor, Provider, or RQI) or “Heart&Stroke” certification from Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation
