Unit Summary:The Neuroscience Unit at Sinai Hospital of Baltimoreis a 36 Bed Unit and is a Vitalpart of The Joint Commission and the Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services. We are a certified Primary Stroke Center. In addition to stroke patients, Neuroscience nurses care for neurosurgery, epilepsy monitoring (EMU) and normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH) patients.
Job Summary: Under the direction of the unit manager, the Registered Nurse at Sinai Hospital of Baltimoreprovides direct clinical patient care. The role will assume responsibility for assessing, planning, and implementing direct age-appropriate clinical care to assigned patients on a per-shift basis, and unit level.
- Accurately evaluates assigned patient and documents clinical assessments, including emotional and physical pain, and required comfort measures; prioritizing patient/family needs into plan of care
- Develops and coordinates discharge plans, independently or in collaboration with other staff
Requirements:
- Registered Nurse License - Current Maryland license or eligibility to obtain Maryland license
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support Certification
- Education:Bachelors of Science in Nursing **
