Job SummaryUnder the general direction of the Cytology Supervisor and the Pathologists, performs cyto-diagnoses of benign, pre-malignant, and malignant disease on specimens with emphasis on fine needle aspirations. Performs and screens PAP Smears utilizing both Conventional and Thin Prep techniques.
Minimum QualificationsEducationBachelor’s degree in Cytotechnology including a 12-month Cytotechnology Certification Program required;or Bachelor’s degree with an additional year in a CAP approved Cytotechnology Training Program
ExperienceMinimum of one year experience as a cytotechnologist or in a related position preferred
Licensure and/or CertificationCT (ASCP) registered required.
SkillsExcellent customer service skills.Computer proficiency required.Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.Ability to maintain confidential information.
