Summary

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Nurse Manager of the Halls units (subacute rehab / LTC)is responsible for ensuring that safe, age-appropriate patient care is provided during hours of unit operation. Hall 1 and Hall 2's patient population are primarily geriatric.The Nurse Manager functions as role model, advisor, resource, and leader for other members of the patient care team. Each employee is obligated to deliver highly reliable care while adhering to all National Patient Safety Goals. Of equal importance is each employee's commitment to the value of teamwork in order to promote a unified and spirited workplace. Directly supervises an Assistant Nurse Manager.

Levindale Hospital is a 330-licensed bed facility located in Baltimore that offers a full continuum of post-acute services to help patients regain function and vitality after a life-altering illness or injury. Levindale is accredited by the Joint Commission and Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities.Levindale's subacute rehabilitation unitprovides a combination of skilled nursing care, physician oversight and rehabilitation services following a hospital stay.

UNITS DESCRIPTION:

Hall 1 (Subacute Care):Comprised of a 42-bed long-term care unit that offers residents daily activities along with a wide range of services and support. Hall 1 is a skilled nursing,sub-acute rehabilitationwith high complexity of needs. This unit is a fast-paced, busy atmosphere with patient conditions ranging post operation, post stroke, post cardiac, ambulatory rehab, as well as high volume forwound care and prevention.

Hall 2(LTC/Memory Care):Comprised of a 50-bed long-term care unit that offers residents daily activities along with a wide range of services and support. Hall 2 is astandard long-term careunit with differingpatient acuity levels, from high functioning to bedridden.Diagnoses include diabetes, cardiac issues, dementia, behavior, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Knowledge of theory and practice within a specialized field; Graduate of a CCNE accredited school of nursing
  • Associate’s degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s in Nursing (BSN) and national certification preferred
  • 5-7 years relevant experience
  • Maryland Registered Nurse License (RN)
  • American Heart Association CPR (BLS) certification
