Job Description:
The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care of patients. The staff RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice and coordination of care with other health team members.
We are growing! We are currently building a new, 105,000+ square foot Primary Children’s Hospital Behavioral Health Center in Taylorsville, Utah opening in September 2025. Serving ages 4-18 with behavioral and mental health diagnoses, we offer outpatient clinics, partial hospitalization programs, intensive outpatient programs, and inpatient care.
In addition to providing our existing mental health services, we are expanding our programming to include:
• Fifty percent more inpatient beds (36 total), including the state’s first dedicated unit to safely care for youth with autism and other neuro developmental needs.
• Family-centered behavioral healthcare, where family members will be actively engaged in their child’s care and able to stay overnight.
• Outpatient spaces, designed for more intensive outpatient treatment, day treatment, and group therapy programs.
This position is for the new Crisis Walk-In Center, providing one streamlined access point for crisis careand replacing local hospital emergency departments as a family’s only option during crisis situations

Shift: Variable (50/50 Split Days and Nights), Weekends and Holidays
Differential Offered: Nights and Weekends
Minimum Qualifications
Current RN License in state of practice.

Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.

Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Preferred Qualifications
One or more years of RN work experience (if you are a new RN graduate or a RN with less than 1 year of work experience, please apply on the new grad posting)
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN). Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.
Physical Requirements:
Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.

Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.

Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.

Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.

Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc).

May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
