Job Summary: The RN in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) cares for patients recovering from major surgeries or experiencing severe surgical complications. This role involves close monitoring of vital signs, administering critical treatments, and collaborating with surgeons and anesthesiologists.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor critically ill patients’ hemodynamic status and manage life-support equipment.
- Administer IV fluids, medications, and blood products as needed.
- Collaborate with surgical teams to adjust post-operative care plans.
- Track patient progress, documenting changes and intervening promptly for complications.
