UNIT SUMMARY: The PCU at Northwest Hospital provides specialized care centered on the whole person with a focus on cardiacdiagnoses. PCU staff members are outgoing, positive, and open to the challenge of developing strong organizational and critical thinking skills to assess patient status, implement clinical nursing interventions to modify symptoms towards improving outcomes. As a nurse on PCU, you will use innovative technology and receive training on cardiac interpretation and peritoneal dialysis. The unit will prepare you to become ACLS certified and all nurses complete specialized training on neurological assessments and treatments.
JOBSUMMARY: Provides safe, age-appropriate patient care, and functions as advisor and resource for patients and their families as a member of the patient care team. Works under the direct supervision and direction of the Nurse Manager.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Formal working knowledge; equivalent to an Associate's degree (2 years college); requires knowledge of a specialized field.
- Bachelor's of Nursing preferred from CCNE accredited schools
- Less than 1 year of experience
- Maryland Registered Nurse License
- American Heart Association BLS Certification
