Inspired Solutions is seeking a skilled Anesthesiologist to join our dynamic team, offering a chance to practice across a broad spectrum of medical procedures including cardiac, thoracic, vascular, burn, neurosurgical, and pain management surgeries. This pivotal role involves conducting thorough pre-operative consultations, administering, and adjusting anesthesia, performing regional anesthesia techniques, and providing comprehensive postoperative care and acute pain management. This position pays $169.71 an hour.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the administration and management of anesthesia and perioperative care across a comprehensive range of medical procedures. This includes:

Comprehensive Anesthesia Services:

    • Administering anesthesia for various surgeries including cardiac, thoracic, vascular, burn, neurosurgical, and pain management procedures.

Pre-Operative Assessment:

    • Conducting pre-operative consultations and evaluations to assess patient condition and formulate anesthesia plans.

Diagnostic and Preparatory Activities:

    • Ordering and interpreting necessary lab and diagnostic studies.
    • Administering pre-anesthetic medications to prepare patients for surgery.

Anesthetic Administration:

    • Delivering general anesthetics and adjuvant drugs.
    • Monitoring and managing patients receiving regional anesthesia.
    • Performing regional anesthesia techniques, including peripheral nerve blocks.
    • Administering sedation for procedures as required.

Patient Monitoring and Support:

    • Performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) when necessary.
    • Employing both invasive and noninvasive methods to monitor patient status.
    • Collaborating in the placement of invasive monitoring devices.
    • Managing airway and mechanical ventilation including oxygen delivery.

Physiological Management:

    • Managing fluids, electrolytes, and acid-base balance.
    • Administering blood products and managing acute blood loss when needed.
    • Inserting peripheral and arterial catheters.

Postoperative and Pain Management:

    • Providing acute pain management solutions.
    • Overseeing post-anesthesia care and managing patient discharge from recovery units.

Collaboration and Communication:

    • Working closely with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a safe and effective surgical environment.
    • Monitoring patient vital signs continuously and adjusting anesthesia levels as necessary to ensure patient safety and comfort.

Professional Development and Education:

    • Keeping abreast of the latest advancements in anesthesiology practice and technology.

Additional Duties:

    • Performing other related duties as assigned to support departmental operations.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Provides services Sunday through Saturday from 0001 to 2400 daily (i.e., 24 hours per day, 7 days per week) by the established schedule, which may include weekdays, weekends, federal holidays, training holidays, or other planned/unplanned closures
  • Provides Anesthesia Services for 1,920 hours per year (average 160 hours per month) per FTE, Sunday through Saturday from 0001 to 2400 (i.e., 24 hours per day, seven days per week) to include weekdays, federal/training holidays, and weekends.
  • Based upon need, the Department will schedule On-Call/Pager services on weekdays, weekends, and federal/training holidays. They will be scheduled for On-Call services an average of 2-4 times per month.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
  • Minimum experience of five (5) years within the last 10 years working as an Anesthesiologist
  • Minimum experience of five (5) years in managing cardiac, pediatric, critical care and trauma patients (Level I)
  • Minimum experience of four (4)years with direct involvement in anesthesia residency education, with experience as a resident mentor, core faculty member, or assistant/ anesthesia program director
  • Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) Degree required
  • Certified by the American Board of Anesthesiologists (ABA) required
  • Licensed in the State of Texas and be able to obtain clinical privileges to practice medicine with the applicable MTF Credentials Committee.
  • Requirements for(active) DEA registration numbers are required
  • Current certifications in BLS, PALS and ACLS from the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Graduate from an accredited medical school in the United States or Canada. This degree must have been accredited by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association; Association of American Medical Colleges; Liaison Committee on Medical Education; Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) at the time the degree was obtained
  • Successful completion of an internship and residency program which has been approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education or the Committee on Postdoctoral Training of the American Osteopathic Association
  • Must be knowledgeable of clinical and administrative theories, principles, practices, and procedures underlying nursing practice; a wide range of medical is orders/conditions
