- 1st Shift: 5:00 AM - 1:00 PM | $16.29/hr
- 2nd Shift: 1:00 PM - 9:00 PM | $16.79/hr
- 3rd Shift: 9:00 PM - 5:00 AM | $17.29/hr
Job Summary
The Duct Operator is responsible for operating insulation and duct manufacturing equipment to produce flexible duct products according to quality and production standards. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety procedures, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate the insulation machine to perform assembly of flexible duct products.
- Follow production schedules provided by the Crew Chief.
- Verify that raw materials (insulation, core, and jacket) match production specifications.
- Obtain and verify appropriate labels and specification sheets.
- Change mandrels and glass guides as required.
- Adjust label guns to the correct production date code.
- Load core trays with core and foil jackets and place them on the machine.
- Load insulation into the glass unwind machine.
- Install jackets on the mandrel and start the winding machine.
- Operate the duct machine safely and efficiently.
- Roll finished product to the bagging station.
- Perform quality checks throughout the production process.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and meet production goals.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials as required.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to stand, bend, and move throughout the shift.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Manufacturing or machine operation experience preferred but not required.
