Wire Braiding Machine Operator

BEPC is actively looking for Wire Braiding Machine Operator, in El Paso, TX area!

W2 Contract – Initial 6-month assignment with possible extensions
Pay Rate: $16.50 - $18.00/hour - Determined based on experience (Paid Weekly)

Work Model: Onsite role

Hands-on experience operating wire braiding machines required

Note: This is a W2 only role C2C, C2H will not be considered

Summary of the Role:

BEPC is seeking a highly motivated Wire Braiding Machine Operator to join our client’s site in El Paso, TX. This role will support the setup, operation, and maintenance of wire braiding machines, ensuring quality and output through adherence to established procedures, engineering specifications, and safety regulations.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate braiding machines and equipment.
• Follow braiding process procedures, including wind-up instructions and internal specifications.
• Start machines and wrap material around take-up rolls or place material into receiving cans.
• Thread material through guides, tensioning mechanisms, braiding points, and tension rollers.
• Continuously monitor the braiding process to detect wire breaks and tie broken wire ends.
• Set up and operate braiding machines that insulate wire.
• Place bobbins of insulated material on spindles and thread strands through the braiding head according to engineering designs and specifications.
• Secure wire spools onto payoff spindles, thread wire through machine guides, footage counters, and braiding heads, and adjust setscrews to control wire tension.
• Adjust traverse attachments to ensure even winding.
• Start machines and wind braiding wire around capstans and onto take-up spools.
• Replace empty bobbins and repair broken wire connections.
• Follow directions from supervisors and communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers.
• Disassemble, clean, reassemble, and perform general maintenance on braiding equipment.
• Properly use measuring equipment and monitoring devices.
• Optimize quality and output through continuous process improvement and troubleshooting.
• Adhere to established workplace, safety, and environmental rules and regulations.

Main Qualifications:

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience operating wire braiding machines required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Experience or ability to operate and read micrometers, calipers, and other measuring devices.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Ability to read blueprints and wire diagrams.
• Experience or ability to perform machine setups using English and Metric units of measurement.
• Above-average math skills.
• Mechanical abilities for machine maintenance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2+ years of hands-on experience operating wire braiding machines.
