Electrical Engineer

Looking for Level 1 & 2 Electrical Engineering professionals. These roles sit within the team responsible for electrical system integration architecture, system sizing, and making controls, sensors, and communications work together as a cohesive platform. This is an early-career role, but not an entry-level shadow position: every engineer, even at the E1 level, owns a subsystem of their own from day one, working alongside a senior engineer for mentorship. The ideal candidate brings strong EE fundamentals, genuine intellectual flexibility to work outside their existing specialty, a self-starter mindset for learning new things independently, and comfort asking questions freely as they ramp up.

Key Responsibilities

- Own a subsystem within the broader vessel electrical architecture, with mentorship from a senior engineer (E1) or with increasing independence (E2)

- Support system integration work spanning PLC controls, sensor integration, engine controls, and compute/sensor payload integration

- Participate across the full lifecycle clean-sheet design, writing test plans and FAT procedures, and working directly with manufacturing on floor-level debug

- Collaborate with the software team on integration points relevant to owned subsystems

- Support field testing of vehicles/vessels - Engage with vendor-supplied components and help define requirements as directed

- Participate in cross-functional design reviews and cross reviews with peers at every level

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field

- E1: 0-3 years of experience. E2: 3-5 years of experience

- Subsystem-level electrical design experience in at least one relevant domain (controls, sensor integration, engine controls, or compute/sensor payload integration), through coursework, internship, or professional work

- Ability to reason about system-level integration, not solely isolated component design

- Working understanding of firmware/OS-layer concepts sufficient to converse with a software team

- Comfortable reading datasheets and working with vendor-supplied, off-the-shelf components

- Demonstrated ability to learn and apply skills outside an existing area of specialization

- Self-starter mindset able to unblock themselves when encountering something new

- Comfortable asking questions openly, including basic ones

Preferred Qualifications

- Any exposure to low-level PCB design

- Any hands-on firmware or embedded software exposure

- Any test/debug experience

- Any exposure to power electronics or engine controls

- Internship, coursework, or project experience with PLC or sensor integration

This is a Permanent position based out of Austin, TX.

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $120000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
