The Store Assistant Manager supports the Store Manager in leading a furniture retail environment with a team of 11–20 employees. This role emphasizes sales and customer experience, inventory and merchandising, and staff development while supporting daily store operations. The position reports to the Store Manager, District Manager, and Regional Manager, with an opportunity to advance to Store Manager.
Responsibilities
- Support store operations and deliver a strong customer experience in the furniture retail environment.
- Supervise, schedule, develop, and coach a team of 11–20 employees.
- Support sales initiatives and help associates achieve performance goals.
- Oversee inventory control, product availability, and merchandise organization.
- Execute visual merchandising standards to present furniture collections effectively.
- Manage cash-handling processes and support loss-prevention procedures.
- Monitor team performance and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in retail operations.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with retail operations and point-of-sale systems.
- Knowledge of inventory management and visual merchandising.
- Experience with staff scheduling, customer service, and team leadership.
