Chemical / Process Engineer - $100,000–$140,000 + Bonus - Houston, TX

Energy Talent Search is working with an engineering company to find a Chemical / Process Engineer to join its Houston team.
This is a hands-on process design role supporting chemical and petrochemical projects across conceptual design, FEED, detailed engineering, construction, commissioning, and startup.
The Role
You’ll work alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams while having plenty of opportunity to take ownership of your own technical work.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing heat and material balances, PFDs, and P&IDs
- Running process simulations using Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, ProMax, or similar software
- Performing hydraulic, line-sizing, and pressure-drop calculations
- Sizing pumps, compressors, vessels, heat exchangers, columns, separators, and control valves
- Preparing process datasheets, calculations, specifications, and technical documentation
- Supporting relief-device sizing and flare-system design
- Participating in HAZOP, PHA, LOPA, SIL, and other process-safety reviews
- Developing process design criteria, operating philosophies, and control philosophies
- Reviewing vendor drawings, calculations, equipment data, and technical proposals
- Supporting brownfield modifications, debottlenecking, expansions, and new facilities
- Working directly with clients, vendors, and other engineering disciplines
- Providing technical support during construction, commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting
What We’re Looking For
You’ll need a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering along with hands-on process design experience.
We’d particularly like to hear from engineers with:
- Chemical and/or petrochemical project experience
- EPC, EPCM, or engineering consulting experience
- Strong PFD and P&ID experience
- Process simulation and equipment-sizing experience
- Knowledge of process safety and HAZOP/PHA reviews
- FEED and/or detailed engineering experience
- Working knowledge of applicable process engineering codes, standards, and industry practices
- EIT/PE certification and field, commissioning, relief-system, or flare-system experience are a plus.
- You must currently live in the United States and be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder. Texas-based candidates are preferred.
