Engineer, Lead Software Verification

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experiencedSenior Software Verification Engineerto lead software verification activities for safety-critical avionics systems developed in accordance withDO-178C. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, designing, developing, executing, and reporting software verification activities forDesign Assurance Level (DAL) Aprojects.

This role requires deep expertise in software verification processes, structural coverage analysis, requirements-based testing, certification support, and team leadership. The ideal candidate will serve as the technical lead for software verification efforts and will mentor and develop a team of software test engineers to achieve compliance with the highest levels of aviation software assurance.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Lead all software verification activities for DO-178C DAL A projects.
  2. Develop and execute comprehensive requirements-based verification strategies fore airborne software.
  3. Lead structural coverage activities for DAL A software.
  4. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of software verification engineers.
  5. Support Stage of Involvement (SOI) audits and certification reviews.

Job Requirements:

  1. Education: Minimum Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline.
  2. Experience: 8 years software verification, software test, or software quality assurance in safety critical environments, 5 years working on DO-178B or DO-178C projects.
  3. Skills: Demonstrated experience leading software verification efforts for at least one DO-178C DAL A or DAL B certification program.
  4. Skills: Experience developing requirements-based tests from software requirements.
  5. Skills: Experience in performing structural coverage analysis, including MC/DC coverage.
  6. Skills: Experience generating and reviewing certification evidence and compliance data.
  7. Skills: Strong understanding of software development, life cycle processes and verification methodologies.
  8. Skills: Excellent technical leadership, communication, and mentoring skills.
  9. Preferred: Experience with aviation certification, DO-330 tool qualification processes, model-based development and verification environments, embedded real-time software and avionics systems, test automation frameworks, configuration management and change control processes.
