E-Bike Mechanic

MOD BIKES is looking for a Full-Time E-Bike Mechanic to join our Garage team in Austin, TX. You'll perform maintenance, tune-ups, repairs, and full bike assemblies alongside a supportive team, making sure every bike that leaves our shop is road-ready and every customer interaction reflects our commitment to real service.

We're looking for a skilled, detail-oriented bike mechanic to join our Garage team someone who takes real pride in their work and wants to grow with a company that's still building its playbook. E-bike experience is a big plus, but a strong mechanical foundation and a genuine willingness to learn our systems matters just as much.

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on electric bikes, including tune-ups, drivetrain and brake adjustments, and general troubleshooting
• Assemble and tune new e-bikes to ensure optimal performance and safety
• Perform safety checks, inspections, and diagnostics on incoming bikes
• Maintain the MOD demo fleet so bikes are always ride-ready
• Assist with bike packing and shipping as needed
• Support the sales team with test ride prep and light bike adjustments
• Keep the workshop clean and organized and make sure tools and equipment are properly cared for

• 2+ years of experience as a bike mechanic (e-bike experience a plus)
• Strong working knowledge of drivetrain systems, brake systems (mechanical & hydraulic), and bike assembly
• Attention to detail and a real commitment to quality and safety
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to lift and maneuver e-bikes (up to 75 lbs)
• Willingness to work weekends and holidays as needed
• Basic computer skills comfort with tools like Shopify, Slack, or Freshdesk a plus

• Experience working with e-bike systems such as Shimano, Bafang, or Bosch
• General handyman skills basic welding or light woodworking
