Financial Analyst – Real Estate Development

About the Opportunity

Benchmark Austin is an established real estate development company with more than three decades of experience delivering award-winning residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects across Central Texas. The Financial Analyst will play a key role in supporting project finance, budgeting, investment analysis, and strategic decision-making while working with an experienced and collaborative team.

Position Summary

The Financial Analyst will track financial performance, build and maintain detailed financial models, prepare reports, and deliver actionable insights to management. This role will evaluate historical and current financial data, support operational budgeting, and help guide key business investments and real estate development decisions.

Primary Responsibilities

· Financial Modeling: Build and maintain financial models, proformas, and scenario analyses to evaluate project performance, investment opportunities, and future earnings.

· Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist with annual budgets, periodic forecasts, and financial planning activities aligned with company objectives.

· Variance Analysis: Compare actual results against budgets and forecasts to identify financial trends, risks, and cost-saving opportunities.

· Data Analysis: Gather, organize, and analyze daily, monthly, and quarterly financial data to evaluate business and project performance.

· Reporting: Prepare clear reports, dashboards, summaries, and presentations for senior leadership and project stakeholders.

· Cross-Functional Support: Collaborate with internal departments to review operating costs, explain financial findings, and support strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

· Experience: 3–5 years of progressive experience in financial analysis, corporate finance, accounting; real estate development finance experience with special district and MUD experience preferred.

· Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, SUMIFS, and dynamic financial modeling; experience with Sage, PowerPoint, Bluebeam/Revu, or similar tools preferred.

· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.

· Work Style: Detail-oriented problem solver with strong initiative, sound judgment, and the ability to manage complex assignments with minimal supervision.
