Job Summary:
Develop and implement production plans according to sales orders to maximize the use of the organization’s resources (material, capacity etc), ensure timely delivery and improve continuously.Under general supervision Production Planner work focuses on scheduling production, processing, assembly, and packaging activities.
Accountabilities:
- Develop and manage production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements while optimizing capacity and resources.
- Support Lean Enterprise and continuous improvement initiatives, tracking key metrics such as on-time delivery, schedule attainment, and inventory accuracy.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies to drive operational excellence.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
- Optimize Schedule to ensure orders meet expected delivery date.
Coordinate with Supply Chain. - Keep Sales and Customer Service updated on orders.
- Ensure correct data in ERP system.
- Manufacturing/Service Production Scheduling work focuses on scheduling production, processing, assembly, and packaging activities including:
- Selecting and sequencing available resources and required processing to individual work centers or lines
- Implementing scheduling changes due to backlogs, design changes, machine downtime or material/labor shortages
- Responsible for reviewing the sales orders, ensuring the availability of materials for
manufacturing/service to commence production, and coordinating production schedules. - Develop and implement production plans to maximize the use of the organization's resources and
meet established production specifications and schedules; volume, cost, and wastage targets; and
quality standards. - Use engineering plans, contracts, and production specifications to produce schedules and
production plans and estimate the human resources, tools, and equipment needed to manufacture
products. - Monitor production/service activity and analyze production data so that the flow of materials is timed
to meet production requirements. - Prepare work orders for production/service or purchase requests based on production/service
schedules. - Evaluate production/service specifications and plant capacity data to determine manufacturing
processes and calculate machine and operator loads. - Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- 1-4 Years of experience in Materials Planning, Scheduling or Supply Chain in a manufacturing
environment. - Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Materials Management or Supply Chain Management
preferred. - Experience utilizing MRP systems
- CPIM Certification a plus
- Experience in a lean and/or six sigma environment preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
