A day in your boots

You start by reviewing CMMS work orders and planning preventive maintenance that keeps critical assets reliable. A production line flags an intermittent faultyour diagnostic tools and deep knowledge of mechanical systems, PLC logic, robotics, pneumatics, and industrial electrical help you isolate the root cause fast. You collaborate with the Production Manager, Supervisors, Quality Technicians, and Engineers to time repairs, then document the fix and recommend an upgrade that reduces future downtime. In the afternoon, you mentor junior mechanics, lead a quick Kaizen, and reinforce OSHA safety protocolsbecause a safety-first culture is nonnegotiable here.

What you’ll tackle
  • Execute complex maintenance and repairs across mechanical, electrical, PLC, robotic, and pneumatic systems with minimal supervision
  • Troubleshoot infrequent, multi-system issues using advanced tools and techniques
  • Act as a technical leadermentor mechanics, coach on troubleshooting and PM best practices, and lead training sessions
  • Partner cross-functionally to drive process improvements; recommend upgrades that boost performance, yield, and uptime
  • Plan and perform preventive maintenance to minimize unplanned downtime
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
  • Capture and analyze equipment data; produce detailed repair and modification reports with recommendations
  • Uphold OSHA, company policies, and safety protocols; promote and audit for a safety-first culture
  • Stay current on industry tech; take on increasingly complex projects while sharing knowledge across the team
How you’ll do it
  • Advanced mechanical aptitude; read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
  • Advanced knowledge of CMMS, Excel, Word; ability to read and interpret P&ID diagrams
  • Expert troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and automated equipment
  • Proficient with diagnostic tools and precision measuring instruments
  • Proven mentor/trainer who fosters collaboration and high performance
  • Clear, confident communicator with peers, engineers, and leadership
What you bring
  • 3+ years of hands-on maintenance experience with mechanical, electrical, PLC controls, robotics, pneumatics, and automated systems
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Associates degree or relevant certifications (mechanical, electrical, PLC, etc.) preferred
  • Certification in maintenance trades or advanced technical training is a plus
  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience is highly desirable
  • Prior team leadership/mentoring in a maintenance environment is highly preferred
  • Manufacturing or industrial backgroundbedding manufacturing or related industries preferred
Work environment & physical factors
  • Stand and walk a minimum of 8 hours per day (or longer with overtime) and lift materials up to 120 pounds multiple times per hour; team lifting required for heavy loads
  • Operate in a safety-focused, fast-paced plant with exposure to noise, hot materials, and chemicals; PPE required
  • Flexible with shift availability, including potential overtime, weekends, and night shifts
