General Foreman
Position Summary
The General Foreman is responsible for overseeing multiple landscape maintenance and enhancement crews while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to company quality standards. This role serves as a key liaison between field teams, supervisors, account managers, and operations leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise landscape maintenance crews across multiple commercial properties.
- Plan daily schedules, routes, labor allocation, and equipment needs.
- Train, mentor, and develop crew leaders and field employees.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality standards are met.
- Monitor safety compliance and enforce company safety policies.
- Coordinate with Account Managers regarding client expectations and property needs.
- Manage labor productivity, material usage, and equipment utilization.
- Assist with landscape enhancements, irrigation projects, seasonal color installations, and special projects.
- Resolve field issues and proactively address customer concerns.
- Maintain accurate reports, timekeeping records, and job documentation.
Qualifications
Required
- 5+ years of commercial landscape maintenance experience.
- 2+ years of supervisory or foreman leadership experience.
- Knowledge of horticulture, irrigation systems, and landscape maintenance best practices.
- Ability to manage and motivate multiple crews.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Preferred
- Commercial landscaping experience serving office, retail, healthcare, industrial, or HOA properties.
- Texas Irrigator License or landscape industry certifications.
- Experience with budgeting, labor forecasting, and production management.
- Previous experience managing crews of 20+ employees.
