Synergy (a subsidiary of SBMF Rx) is seeking a dedicated and energetic pharmacist to join our team. In this vital role, you will float between two privately owned specialty pharmacies in San Antonio, providing expert pharmaceutical care in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include safe medication dispensing, patient counseling, and clinical support. Your expertise will directly impact patient outcomes through personalized, high-quality care. Duties
- Dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently using pharmacy software systems, ensuring compliance with all legal and safety standards.
- Provide patient counseling on medication usage, potential side effects, and interactions to promote safe and effective treatment adherence.
- Manage inventory levels meticulously, including ordering supplies, verifying stock accuracy, and handling medication compounding when necessary.
- Maintain detailed records within electronic health record (EHR) systems while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Support pharmacy technician staff by overseeing workflow, verifying prescriptions, and assisting in medication preparation processes.
Requirements:
Experience
- Completion of a pharmacy residency program or equivalent clinical pharmacy experience demonstrating advanced patient care skills.
- Hands-on experience with pharmacy software applications, EMR (Electronic Medical Records), and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems.
- Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and pharmacology essential for effective patient assessment and medication management.
- Experience working within HIPAA guidelines ensuring the confidentiality of sensitive patient information.
