CNC Programmer / Machinist
Pay: $31.00–$36.00 per hour
Schedule: Full-Time
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer / Machinist to join our manufacturing team. This position is ideal for a skilled machinist who is comfortable programming, setting up, and operating CNC equipment and has experience working with both mills and lathes.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of GD&T, CNC programming, precision machining, and CAD/CAM software. Experience with CATIA, Mastercam, or GibbsCAM and 3-axis or 5-axis machining is highly preferred.
Responsibilities
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements.
• Set up and operate CNC and manual mills and lathes.
• Program CNC machines, including tool offsets, work coordinates, speeds, feeds, and cutting parameters.
• Perform machining operations including milling, turning, drilling, boring, grooving, threading, facing, and knurling.
• Program and optimize 3-axis and 5-axis machining centers.
• Design and build machining fixtures and workholding setups.
• Select appropriate tooling and cutting strategies based on materials and part requirements.
• Inspect completed parts using precision measuring equipment to ensure they meet print specifications and tolerances.
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and programming issues and make adjustments to improve quality and efficiency.
• Use CAD/CAM software to create, modify, and optimize machining programs.
• Create setup sheets and supporting documentation for machine operators.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on machine tools.
• Machine components to engineering specifications and special customer requirements.
Qualifications
• 5+ years of CNC programming and machining experience preferred.
• Hands-on experience with both CNC and manual machining equipment.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T and blueprint reading.
• Experience programming CNC mills, lathes, or machining centers.
• Experience with 3-axis and/or 5-axis machining.
• Proficiency with CATIA, Mastercam, GibbsCAM, or similar CAD/CAM software.
• Strong understanding of speeds, feeds, tooling, work offsets, and machining parameters.
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, and indicators.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Basic Microsoft Office proficiency.
Preferred Experience
• CATIA experience.
• Vericut experience.
• Experience creating or modifying CNC post processors.
• Fixture design and workholding experience.
