Location: Houston, TX (Multiple Sites: High Need in 77054 & 77051)
Pay: $25.00 per hour | Weekly Pay
Schedule:Part-Time | MondayThursday | Approx.4:00 PM 7:00 PM (Start times vary by site: 4:00 PM, 5:00 PM or 5:30 PM)

Openwork is seeking dedicated and compassionate Academic Coaches to support youth and young adults (ages 1421) currently in or aging out of foster care. Operating primarily at Residential Treatment Centers, you will provide personalized academic support and help participants build essential executive functioning skills like time management, organization, and study strategies.
What You'll DoProvide individualized and group tutoring/coaching to youth in foster care across assigned Houston-area locations (primarily 77054 and 77051 zip codes).
Support students with school assignments and executive functioning skill development.
Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of student attendance and academic progress.
Ensure all required registration forms and student assessments are current.
Attend scheduled meetings, program events, and required quality/consistency trainings.
Execute a proprietary agreement upon onboarding.
Education: Bachelors degree preferred; some college coursework considered.
Tutoring Experience: At least 1 year of experience tutoring core subjects (higher-level math, science, and language arts).
Youth Work Experience: At least 2 years of experience working with youth ages 14 and older.
Availability & Logistics: Available MonThu after-school hours; willing to travel to multiple sites across Houston and surrounding areas (reliable vehicle, valid driver's license, and current liability insurance required).
Tech Requirements: Access to a personal computer and Microsoft Teams.
Key Traits: Patience, empathy, schedule flexibility, and a strong ability to connect with youth from diverse backgrounds.
