Job Title: Integration Technician

Job Description

This role focuses on building, integrating, and calibrating large-scale optical systems used in solar energy capture. You will help produce reliable, high-precision components that support clean, cost-effective energy solutions. During the first month, you will assist in building out a new warehouse environment, then transition into a hands-on integration and assembly technician position.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in setting up the warehouse during the first month by unpacking equipment, building out workstations, and assembling tool sets to support future integration and assembly activities.
  • Assemble and align large optical components with a high degree of precision to ensure optimal performance in solar energy capture systems.
  • Install lens systems into modular frames and calibrate solar tracking equipment to meet defined performance and alignment specifications.
  • Conduct quality checks using precision measurement tools to verify dimensional accuracy, alignment, and overall system integrity.
  • Test and validate optical performance and solar concentration accuracy, documenting results and making adjustments as needed.
  • Follow established safety procedures at all times and maintain a clean, organized work environment in the warehouse and assembly areas.
  • Use hand tools and power tools to perform mechanical and electro-mechanical assembly tasks according to technical drawings and schematics.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation to guide assembly, integration, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Handle and lift components weighing up to 50 pounds safely while working in a warehouse and outdoor-adjacent environment.
  • Collaborate with team members to identify issues, propose improvements, and support continuous enhancement of assembly and integration processes.

Essential Skills

  • At least 2 years of experience in mechanical assembly or optical systems.
  • Proficiency in mechanical assembly with strong hands-on skills.
  • Experience with electro-mechanical assembly tasks.
  • Skilled in using precision tools and measurement instruments for alignment and quality checks.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail in high-precision work.
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to lift and handle components up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfort working in a warehouse environment, including exposure to heat.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Technical certification or vocational training in a mechanical, electro-mechanical, or related field is preferred.
  • Experience with optical systems or precision assemblies is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with solar tracking equipment and solar-related components is advantageous.
  • Experience working from detailed blueprints and integration documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced, build-out environment.

Work Environment

This is a fully onsite role in a warehouse environment. You will help build out and work within newly established workstations and integration areas. The position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and spend time in Texas heat when moving materials or working near open loading areas. Daily work involves frequent use of hand tools, power tools, precision measurement instruments, and handling of mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies. The environment emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and organization, with a strong focus on maintaining a well-structured workspace to support high-precision optical and solar system integration.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Austin, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
