Key Responsibilities for Work Experience

• Cashier Duties: Collect patient co-pays, deductibles, and out-of-pocket charges if needed at checkout. Process cash, check, and credit card payments. Balance cash drawer.
• Post: Reconcile batches and close the daily report.
• Verify Benefits: Vision and medical insurance coverage.
• Submit Claims: Process and transmit clean electronic and paper vision and medical claims to insurance companies.
• Front Desk Support: Answer phones, schedule patients, assist where needed.
• Manage Denials: Review rejected or denied claims, research discrepancies, resubmit and submit formal appeals.
• Post Payments: Post insurance and patient payments accurately to ledger accounts.
• Handle Inquiries: Answer patient and carrier billing questions, establish payment plans, and resolve account balance complaints.
• Maintain Compliance: Ensure all daily operations follow HIPAA guidelines and healthcare laws.
• Collections: Send invoices to patients.
• Data Entry: Verify demographics and insurance information.
• Aging Reports: Work report and reduce outstanding balances.
