What You Will Do
- Read and review construction drawings, plans, specifications, and bid documents.
- Perform accuratequantity takeoffsand estimate project costs.
- Develop complete and competitive project estimates.
- Contact subcontractors and suppliers to obtain pricing.
- Review subcontractor and supplier bids for accuracy, completeness, and competitiveness.
- Compare bids and identify the best pricing and value.
- Prepare bid packages and proposal documents.
- Prepare clarifications, alternates, and qualifications.
- Work with project managers, customers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Make sure estimates are accurate and submitted on time.
Requirements
- 7+ years of commercial construction estimating experienceor related experience.
- Strong ability to read construction drawings and specifications.
- Experience with quantity takeoffs and construction pricing.
- Strong understanding of commercial construction.
- Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Experience working with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Proficiency withBluebeam, Procore, or similar construction software.
- Proficiency withMicrosoft Office and Excel.
