Your Responsibilities as a Fleet Dispatcher:Fleet Operations & Driver Support
- Dispatch, monitor, and communicate with drivers throughout their shifts to ensure efficient service.
- Track vehicle and driver activity while responding to changing transportation demands.
- Coordinate transportation schedules and make real-time operational adjustments as needed.
- Ensure operational procedures are followed and communicate service updates promptly.
- Monitor on-time performance and help maintain high service standards.
- Provide guidance and support to drivers regarding routes, schedules, safety, and operational requirements.
- Mentor and coach drivers as needed to promote compliance, professionalism, and safe driving practices.
Customer Service & Communication
- Serve as a primary point of contact for drivers and customers.
- Provide exceptional customer service while handling inquiries, concerns, and service requests.
- Resolve service issues quickly and professionally to maintain customer satisfaction.
- Build positive relationships through effective communication and problem-solving.
- Keep customers informed of service updates and operational changes when necessary.
Operational Excellence
- Support daily transportation operations by monitoring service performance and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure quality standards are met and customer expectations are exceeded.
- Report operational disruptions or service deviations in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with management and team members to maintain smooth and efficient operations.
Qualifications & Skills of a Fleet Dispatcher:
- Strong computer skills with the ability to quickly learn new software and technology platforms.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to manage a multi-line phone system with high call volume.
- Strong multitasking and organizational abilities.
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and solution-focused under pressure.
- Experience handling and resolving driver or customer concerns professionally.
- Ability to work simultaneously across multiple software systems and dual computer screens.
- Dispatch, transportation, fleet, logistics, customer service, or call center experience is a plus.
