Male Direct Care Specialist - DODD

We are currently seeking a dependable, professional Male Direct Care Specialist to provide direct support to an individual receiving DODD services. The ideal candidate will be patient, responsible, compassionate, and committed to helping the individual maintain independence and participate in daily activities.

Responsibilities

Assist with activities of daily living and personal care as needed

Provide supervision and support in the home and community

Assist with meal preparation and household tasks

Transport the individual to appointments, outings, work, and community activities as scheduled

Follow the individual’s service plan and established routines

Complete required documentation

Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment

Communicate professionally with supervisors, family members, and other members of the care team

Requirements

Male applicant preferred based on the individual’s personal-care needs

Must have reliable transportation

Must have a valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance

Must be able to pass all required background checks

Must be CPR/First Aid certified or able to obtain certification

Must be dependable and able to report to scheduled shifts on time

Previous direct care, DSP, home health, or caregiving experience is preferred

DODD certification is not required to apply we will assist qualified candidates with becoming DODD certified

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is reliable, patient, energetic, and comfortable working one-on-one with a male individual with developmental disabilities. This position is best suited for someone who understands that direct care involves more than simply being presentyou must be willing to engage with the individual, assist with daily responsibilities, and encourage community participation and independence.

We are looking for compassionate RN's and LPNs to provide nursing services to individuals with disabilities or illness in their homes.
