Responsibilities Include: Patient Care: Conduct thorough hygiene procedures to include: scaling and root planing, gingivitis scaling, and prophylaxis. Assessment: Perform comprehensive periodontal assessments, medical history assessments, and caries risk assessments. Patient Education: Educate patients on hygiene treatments needed based on medical and periodontal assessments. X-Rays: Take digital radiographs as necessary for patient diagnosis. Treatment Planning: Assist in developing personalized AAP and ADA based treatment plans per patient need, based on assessments and dentist recommendations. Collaboration: Work closely with dentists and other dental professionals to ensure coordinated patient care. Patient Interaction: Engage patients in a friendly, reassuring manner, while addressing any concerns or questions they may have. Documentation: Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of treatment plans and completed procedures. Infection Control: Adhere strictly to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and sterile working environment. Requirements: Education: Degree or certification in Dental Hygiene from an accredited institution. License: Valid state dental hygiene license. Other licenses/certifications: CPR, Local Anesthesia, Nitrous Oxide Sedation, Laser Certification (where required).
