JOB DESCRIPTION (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES): • Supervises and performs maintenance and cleaning of the paint and wash systems at predetermined intervals including wash system, paint booth, environmental room, wastewater treatment, filter changes, and other critical items to maintain the required performance of the systems and product specifications. • Drains, refills, and recharges wash, chemical, and rinse tanks on a predetermined schedule. • Recharges dosing tanks when low. • Perform titrations to check concentrations of chemical tanks and make necessary adjustments if needed. • Calibrate conductivity, PH, and other meters at specified intervals. • Determine and maintain optimal wash nozzle and paint gun positioning and settings. • Ensure climate control settings (temperature, fan settings, and humidity where applicable) are maintained throughout the systems including but not limited to the wash, powder paint environmental rooms, cure ovens and cool down chambers. • Change out and manage chemicals which includes making sure the containers are properly cleaned prior to disposal. • Runs paint test panels as required by engineering for quality and reliability testing. • Perform oven profiling periodically as specified by engineering. • Manage start up and shut down of the systems. • Maintain and create process instructions for painting and washing parts such as loading and unloading parts, paint color changes, system operation and maintenance, and any other pertinent documentation. • Monitor waste water treatment system. • Other assignments as assigned by the manager.Job RequirementsBASIC REQUIREMENTS:• Minimum 5 years of experience with wash systems, powder paint, and liquid paint systems or 7 years of experience in related field with high school diploma or GED. • Able to troubleshoot and solve manufacturing problems. The Plant Mechanical Engineering Technologist supports the department within Lincoln Electric which is responsible for designing, maintaining, improving, and supporting the equipment, manufacturing processes, and plant-wide infrastructure. Past Plant Engineers have worked to create the operations as we know it today.As a Plant Technologist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting and executing projects across our manufacturing facilities in the Cleveland and Mentor areas. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the sustainability and growth of our operations.In addition to competitive pay, Lincoln Electric offers a lucrative profit-sharing plan, student loan repayment program PLUS tuition reimbursement, medical/dental/vision, 401(k) with company match, paid time off and many more outstanding benefits!What You Will Do• Collaborate in a team environment to execute capital projects for manufacturing facilities in the Cleveland and Mentor areas. • Take responsibility for the mechanical aspects of projects, which may include documentation, equipment installation, project management, and support. • Implement engineering solutions to improve equipment reliability and safety, reduce operating and maintenance costs, and effectively manage outage risks. • Create and maintain sustainable documentation for use by engineering and maintenance teams. • Implement solutions that comply with ISO 14001 and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) initiatives to enhance environmental and employee health and safety standards. • Provide capital cost estimates and establish project timelines to ensure successful completion of project work. • Review equipment quotations to confirm compliance with desired specifications. • Deliver technical support to the Production and Maintenance departments. • Coordinate and interface with engineering, production, maintenance, and supply management teams. • Work closely with and often manage outside engineering and construction personnel. • Ensure all safety, health, environmental, and compliance requirements adhere to the appropriate regulations. • Provide support for various tasks as directed by Plant Engineering managers to ensure efficient operations. • Assumes additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the Company’s 2025 Strategy.Education & Experience Requirements• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology (Mechanical) with a minimum of 3 years of experience, OR • Associate's degree in related fields with 5 years of experience, OR • High school diploma/GED with 10 years of relevant experienceAdditional requirements include:• Strong desire to take ownership of tasks and deliver results. • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities. • Demonstrates good judgment, self-motivation, and a commitment to safety. • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work effectively, and meet deadlines. • Flexibility to handle diverse assignments and adapt to changing priorities. • Ability to perform hands-on work when needed and work collaboratively on the shop floor with employees and processes. • Technically proficient in CAD modeling.
