This role involves coordinating between various departments, including production, quality control, maintenance, and logistics, to streamline workflows and resolve any issues that arise during the manufacturing process. The supervisor is responsible for monitoring production schedules, managing staff, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and implementing best practices to enhance productivity and minimize waste. Ultimately, the goal is to achieve a high level of operational efficiency while maintaining product quality and adhering to regulatory standards.Key responsibilities: Production Coordinator, SupervisorBasic Job Skills SafetyIdentify and resolve unsafe conditionsPerform weekly/daily process auditsEnsure area is being operated safely by techniciansEnsure interlocks are active and add more where neededEnsure proper housekeeping and cGMP requirements are met in the areaSupply work lists (Gameplans) to the shift teams for areas of improvement and follow-upTake the lead on management of change, process safety management and risk assessment in respective areasEnvironmentKnow the impact of area on wastewater treatment and work to minimize load. Actively solicit ideas to improve environmental performance and work with engineers and management to implement these.Process Troubleshooting/Optimization Lead troubleshooting of significant process upsets and problemsWork with engineers, plant Area Resources and area technicians to resolve operational challengesMake improvements to enable a more efficient operationInitiate program changes, alarm and interlock revisions through narrative writingParticipate in Root Cause & corrective Analysis (RCCA) as needed in the plant. This includes assisting in the implementation of changes/completion of the action items associated with the RCCA.Quality and YieldTrack the quality and yield performance daily to ensure optimum operating condition. Ensure corrective actions are taken by the shift team.Production ManagementLead / supervise / develop the area operatorsManage rates through the areaKnow the production targets and position the area to achieve them in the most efficient way. This may require working with upstream and downstream areas to determine best operating strategies.Target completion of daily game plans to ensure jobs are executed on the assigned shiftTrainingSupport in providing technicians with technical training of the existing or new processes.Review training documents and safe work procedures to ensure documents are updated with the changes in the plant as requested.Be involved in the technician progression evaluation and qualification system.Be a resource for technicians Area Resources and engineers in both process specific information and good use of operations fundamentals.ReliabilityAssist in performing periodic equipment criticality analysis and work with the team to follow through on action items initiatedHelp foster an “operator ownership” mentality in relation to equipment performance, upkeep, and monitoring in order to strengthen the plant’s reliability performancePhysical RequirementsThis position requires the ability to perform the following tasks safely:Lifting of up to 50 pounds without mechanical assistance.Use of hand tools above shouldersUse of walk-behind pallet jacksUse of forklift, scissor lift and other PIEWork in elevated positions with hand tools and fall restraint equipment.Ability to wear personnel protective equipment (PPE)Climbing up and down laddersWorking at heights 20’ and moreWorking in hot areas and climates for extended timesWorking in cold climates for extended timesHandling chemicals properlyAbout YouBachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field or 10+ years of applicable experience and GED/HS diplomaIdeally. extensive experience in operations supervision within the food, food additive, or chemical manufacturing industry, focusing on personnel development and process optimization.In-depth knowledge of food or chemical manufacturing processes, food safety regulations, and industry standards.Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.Familiarity with quality control and food safety certifications (e.g., HACCP, ISO 22000, BRC) and project management methodologies is a plus.Ability to work with computers (Windows, Office).Good organization skills.Must be willing to work overtime, including nights, weekends, andholidays if necessaryTotal RewardsThe annual pay range estimated for this position is $65,728.00 - $82,160.00 and is bonus eligible.Please note that while this range reflects the full spectrum of compensation available for this role, individual compensation will be determined based on several factors including your experience, skills, and alignment with the role's responsibilities.During the interview process there will be an opportunity to discuss how your background fits into the pay range.
