Job Description:As Saab continues to build out brown field operations in Syracuse, New York we are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer who is interested in further developing knowledge in manufacturing technology. The Manufacturing Engineering function will be responsible for all the production technical work for assembly and installation, from calculation, production preparation and production of process documentation, to verification. The function is also accountable for manufacturing engineering development, manufacturing techniques, and supporting the qualification of new products based on both Saab and customer requirements.The Manufacturing Engineer will be an integral link between the design team and the production team in Syracuse.Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:Analyze existing and/or revised technical data package from an assembly and test perspective to develop, produce, and sustain the following in a brownfield-like environment:Assembly instructionsManufacturing routersAssembly aides, fixtures, and toolingManufacturing work cells and flow linesWorkspace requirements from a material flow, visual management, and bottleneck perspective.Contribute to the development of production systems and working methods influencing the design work to achieve efficient low production costs without compromising function and quality.Contribute to the development of new technical solutions, and to the development of efficient production systems and assembly lines based on Lean principles.Assist in the development of Tiered Meeting Architecture, 5S, and Idea systemsActively engage with assemblers, technicians, and inspectors to improve value add processes and workplace organization.Develop and implement factory layouts and production flow in conjunction with existing facility and capital buildout.Champion the Company values, consistently demonstrating – Trust, Drive, Expertise, and SupportAssist in creating basis of estimates for manufacturing activities in support of proposalsCompensation Range: $90,00 - $112,000The compensation range provided is a general guideline.
