Apply today!Job Summary and QualificationsThe Med/Surg Director ensures high quality, patient-centered care through oversight of the overall function and staffing of the unit(s)/department(s) in addition to forecasting, planning, and budget monitoring. The Director fosters a culture of accountability and collaboration and supports the development and implementation of strategies, policies, and procedures in support of facility objectives. What you will do in this role:Maintain responsibility for the overall direction of the Medical/Surgical Floor.Cultivate a superior clinical identity by identifying and implementing evidence-based practices to advance patient safety and quality outcomes, ensuring adherence to standards of care.Ensure that Nursing Care is based on the Nursing Process and evaluate the effectiveness on an ongoing basis.Implement Emergency Management Plan and Patient Safety Initiatives.Coordinate the department’s participation in activities to assure continuous performance improvement.Manage variation in clinical practice to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and cost, while ensuring a culture of accountability and transparency in the provision of care. Stay abreast of legal and regulatory standards and ensures compliance through developing and implementing policies, procedures, and practices. Ensure efficient patient throughput and delivery of high quality, patient-centered care through volume forecasting, patient flow coordination, and admission/discharge planning. Provide leadership in attaining and sustaining an unparalleled patient experience, by instilling accountability for providing consistent, positive patient interactions that differentiate the organization as a healthcare leader. Leverage various feedback mechanisms to benchmark performance and identify opportunities to improve customer/patient satisfaction in an effort to elevate the patient experience. Foster a culture that inspires commitment to the vision/mission/values of the organization, ensuring employees are recognized, valued, and supported. Identify development opportunities or training needs of individual employees and teams and provide any needed coaching, feedback, or training to improve performance. Collaborate with administrative team and physicians to enhance existing services or develop new service offerings. Identify stakeholder engagement strategies, technology advances, and other opportunities to drive differentiation and increase volume. Participate in the annual budget process, including input into department revenue and expense forecasts, staffing, and supply and equipment needs. Ensure effective labor management, including position control, scheduling excellence, productivity management, and premium pay utilization to maintain staffing to ensure appropriate patient care. Manage operating expenses, including the utilization of supplies and equipment. Identify cost reduction opportunities and implement actions to achieve savings.What qualifications you will need:Graduate of an accredited school of Professional Nursing required.Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Kentucky or compact state required.2 years of Medical/Surgical experience required.Management experience strongly preferred.Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.TriStar Greenview Regional Hospital is a 200+ bed facility serving Southern Kentucky and surrounding areas.
