Summary: As a CDL A Drayage Driver, you will transport overweight containers from ports to designated locations, navigate port procedures confidently, and return the empty containers. You’ll hook and unhook containers, assist with loading and unloading, and adhering to transportation regulatory compliance.Work Hours: Sunday to Thursday from 08:00 PM to 06:30 AMSeniority Level: Entry LevelEmployment Type: Full-timeCompensation: This hourly, non-exempt position pays from $25.75 to $28.75 per hour, with overtime compensated at 1.5 times the base rate. New hires usually earn between $83,500 and $106,000 annually, or more, depending on experience, overtime hours, and bonuses.Responsibilities:Pull overweight containers from ports, deliver to designated locations, and return empty containers.Navigate port procedures confidently and efficiently.Hook and unhook containers to the power unit; assist with loading, unloading, and securing cargo.Perform local deliveries with multiple stops using flatbed and dry van trailers as needed.Maintain constant alertness and operate vehicles safely at all times.Work independently while staying focused and on task.Adapt to changing conditions while maintaining a customer-centric approach.Communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.Perform additional duties as required.Requirements:Valid Class A Driver’s License.Valid TWIC Card.One (1) plus year of verifiable driving experience with heavy-duty vehicles.
