What You'll Do

The Youth Support Shift Lead makes a positive impact on the lives of adolescents with autism and intellectual and developmental disabilities.

You'll help create a safe, structured, nurturing environment while supporting youth in developing independence, confidence, and life skills.

Your responsibilities may include:

Leadership & Coordination

• Oversee shift operations and assign duties to staff
• Help motivate and support team members
• Maintain a structured, safe, and nurturing environment
• Provide leadership and on-call support when needed

Youth Engagement

• Work directly with youth experiencing behavioral health challenges
• Provide trauma-informed and strength-based support
• Build positive and meaningful relationships with residents
• Serve as a mentor and positive role model

Skill Building

• Design and lead life skills and educational activities
• Tailor activities to each youth's individual needs and strengths
• Assist youth with daily living activities
• Reinforce social skills and independence

Assessment & Personalization

• Observe and evaluate youth's daily functioning
• Help identify individual needs and strengths
• Support individualized service approaches
• Implement appropriate behavior management strategies

Transportation & Support

• Provide transportation as needed
• Support youth participation in community activities and services
• Reinforce positive behaviors and social skills
• Provide additional support during challenging situations

QualificationsEducation

• Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years working directly with youth in an out-of-home treatment setting
• Some program elements may require 3–5 years of experience

Additional Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Valid driver's license required
• Must successfully complete physical and drug screening
• Must pass Criminal Record History, FBI, and Child Abuse History Clearances

Full-Time

Monday – Friday | 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM
