General Description:
Use and maintain all common measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, heightgages and bore gages. Read and understand prints, routers, and quality plans and tocommunicate the information contained.
Reports to: Quality Manager
Responsibilities:
- Inspects and approves incoming materials by confirming specifications, conductingvisual and measurement tests, and rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
- Inspects in-process production by confirming specifications, conducting visual andmeasurement tests, communicating required adjustments to production supervisor.
- Approves finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual andmeasurement tests, returning products for re-work, and confirming re-work.
- Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizes re-workand waste, and inputs data into quality database.
- Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions andcalibration requirements and calling for repairs.
- Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and proceduresand complying with legal regulations.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and readingtechnical publications.
- Accomplishes quality and organization mission by completing related results asneeded.
Educational Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent, technical or trade school training preferred
Previous Experience:
- 1 - 5 years as a Quality Inspector in a manufacturing environment or similar Quality position
