Position Summary:
The Operations Intern supports the Operations team by monitoring shipments, ensuring timely delivery, and maintaining accurate updates for both internal teams and customers. This role provides hands-on experience in freight visibility, shipment tracking, and problem resolution within a fast-paced logistics environment. The intern will work closely with Operations Specialists and gain exposure to supply chain processes, TMS tools, and customer communication.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and track shipments throughout the transportation lifecycle using TMS and other tracking tools
  • Communicate proactively with carriers, customers, and internal teams regarding shipment status, delays, and exceptions
  • Analyze shipment data to identify trends or potential issues and provide actionable insights
  • Assist in resolving shipment discrepancies or delays
  • Document and maintain accurate records of shipment updates and communications
  • Support the Operations team on assigned projects related to shipment visibility and process improvement
  • Collaborate with team members to identify opportunities for improving tracking accuracy and efficiency
