Project Manager – Estimating & Project Delivery
H2sOlutions | Lakeland, Florida
About H2sOlutions
H2sOlutions provides equipment, technical services, and custom-engineered systems for municipal water, wastewater, and industrial facilities.
Our capabilities include instrumentation, chemical feed systems, pumps, controls, process piping, custom skids, installation, and field services.
We work closely with contractors, engineers, manufacturers, and facility owners to deliver reliable solutions for critical infrastructure.
The Opportunity
We're looking for a hands-on Project Manager who can bring structure, financial accountability, and consistent execution to our projects.
Our work is primarily performed as a subcontractor or equipment supplier, rather than a prime contractor. This position focuses on managing our contracted scope, not overseeing an entire construction site.
You'll be responsible for developing accurate estimates, establishing project budgets, coordinating purchasing and material deliveries, monitoring costs, communicating with customers and contractors, and ensuring commitments are fulfilled.
You'll also support business development by identifying opportunities, preparing proposals, and helping grow our project pipeline.
We're looking for someone who doesn't just track projects but actively drives them toward successful, profitable completion.
What You'll Own
1. Estimating & Proposals
- Develop consistent, accurate estimates for labor, materials, equipment, freight, subcontractors, and other project costs.
- Review specifications, drawings, and scopes to identify requirements, exclusions, and risks.
- Obtain vendor quotations, validate pricing and lead times, and prepare proposals using approved margin targets.
- Establish standardized estimating practices to improve accuracy and profitability.
2. Project Planning & Execution
- Take ownership of awarded projects from kickoff through closeout.
- Establish job budgets, schedules, procurement plans, milestones, and deliverables.
- Coordinate submittals, drawings, technical documentation, and approvals.
- Work with the Service Manager to plan field resources and communicate project requirements.
- Monitor progress, resolve issues within assigned authority, and escalate risks before they impact delivery.
3. Purchasing & Material Coordination
- Coordinate purchase orders, vendor acknowledgments, and material requirements.
- Track manufacturing lead times, shipping schedules, and deliveries.
- Communicate delays and coordinate corrective actions.
- Ensure materials and documentation are available when needed to support project commitments.
4. Project Financial Management
- Establish and maintain accurate job budgets and cost-to-complete forecasts.
- Monitor actual labor, materials, purchases, subcontractor expenses, and other project costs against estimates.
- Identify cost overruns, margin erosion, and billing discrepancies early.
- Track scope changes and prepare change-order pricing for approval.
- Provide Accounting with accurate job-cost information and timely billing documentation.
5. Customer & Contractor Communication
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned project coordination.
- Maintain proactive communication with general contractors, engineers, end users, vendors, and internal teams.
- Track customer commitments, approvals, project milestones, and outstanding action items.
- Coordinate startup, documentation, customer acceptance, and project closeout.
6. Business Development & Continuous Improvement
- Partner with Sales to identify and qualify new project opportunities.
- Build relationships with contractors, engineers, and existing customers.
- Support bid preparation, proposal follow-up, and repeat business.
- Improve estimating templates, purchasing processes, project reporting, and handoffs between departments.
What We're Looking For
- Experience in project management, estimating, procurement, or technical project coordination.
- Background in water, wastewater, industrial equipment, mechanical systems, or related industries.
- Strong understanding of job costing, budgets, purchasing, and project schedules.
- Ability to read technical drawings, specifications, and vendor documentation.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proactive problem-solving and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
- Proficiency with Excel and project management software; Zoho experience is a plus.
- Strong financial awareness and a commitment to accuracy and accountability.
What Success Looks Like
- Estimates are accurate, consistent, and financially sound.
- Every awarded project has a documented scope, budget, schedule, and execution plan.
- Material orders and delivery commitments are actively monitored.
- Project costs and forecasted margins are visible, accurate, and regularly reviewed.
- Customers and contractors receive timely updates without having to chase information.
- Scope changes are documented and approved before additional work proceeds.
- Projects are completed with accurate billing, complete documentation, and minimal avoidable rework.
- New opportunities are identified and developed to support profitable growth.
