Gene’s 112 Auto Service Center is seeking a customer focused Service Advisor to join our team. We are an independent, family-owned automotive repair shop, servicing all makes and models. We’re open to someone at the junior advisor level, but candidates should have previous experience in an automotive repair shop, dealership, or closely related service environment. Sales experience is a plus, but a strong customer service mindset, good communication skills, and a willingness to learn are most important. This role is a good fit for someone who understands the repair process, communicates well with customers and technicians, and wants to continue developing into a confident, well-rounded advisorall while enjoying a consistent Monday-through-Friday schedule. Responsibilities:- Greet customers and serve as the primary point of contact throughout the vehicle service process
- Schedule appointments and help manage the shop’s daily workflow
- Prepare repair orders and document customer concerns accurately
- Communicate with technicians about inspections, diagnoses, and repair recommendations
- Explain recommended services in a clear way, prioritized for the customer
- Prepare estimates, obtain repair authorizations, and keep customers updated
- Review completed work and invoices with customers upon pickup
- Coordinate vehicle drop-offs, pickups, and follow-up communication
- Maintain accurate customer and vehicle records
- Assist with warranty, parts, and vendor communication as needed
- Work closely with the Service Manager, owner, technicians, and front-office team to create a smooth customer experience and organized and efficient workflow in the shop
Requirements:- Prior experience as a Service Advisor, Junior Advisor, or similar automotive service role
- Familiarity with automotive repair terminology and the general repair process
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to explain repair information clearly and build customer trust
- Ability to manage phones, appointment scheduling, estimate writing and other priorities
- Organized, dependable, with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively in a busy independent repair shop
- Ability to use computers, shop management system and other integrated technology
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- A positive, customer first attitude and great problem solving skills
