Shear Press Operator
Location: Conroe, TX
Pay: [$23 to $27]
Schedule: [Night Shift but will train on Days for a week.]
Apache Workforce is hiring a Shear Press Operator for a manufacturing client in Conroe, TX. This position supports the fabrication of sheet metal components used in electrical control panels, enclosures, and related equipment.
We are looking for someone with experience operating metal shearing equipment who can read fabrication drawings, take accurate measurements, and consistently produce quality work.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate shearing equipment to cut sheet metal to specified dimensions.
- Read blueprints, fabrication drawings, and work orders to determine cutting requirements.
- Verify material type, thickness, and measurements before cutting.
- Adjust machine settings and back gauges according to job specifications.
- Inspect finished pieces for accuracy, cut quality, and compliance with production requirements.
- Identify and report equipment issues, material defects, or dimensional discrepancies.
- Organize cut parts and materials for the next stage of fabrication.
- Follow machine safety procedures, use required PPE, and maintain a clean work area.
Qualifications
- Previous experience operating a metal shear in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Ability to read fabrication drawings and work orders.
- Ability to accurately use a tape measure and other measuring tools.
- Basic math skills, including working with fractions and dimensions.
- Strong attention to detail, dependable attendance, and the ability to work with a production team.
- Experience fabricating sheet metal components for electrical enclosures or similar products is a plus.
