Injection Molding Setup Technician – 2nd Shift

Job Overview
Are you an experienced injection molding or setup technician looking for your next opportunity? We are seeking a mechanically inclined professional with hands-on experience setting up injection molding equipment in a manufacturing environment.
This role involves mold changes, machine setup, process adjustments, and troubleshooting to support efficient production and consistent product quality.
This is a temporary-to-hire opportunity in the Derby area, conveniently located for candidates commuting from New Haven, Waterbury, and surrounding Connecticut communities.
Responsibilities
- Set up injection molding machines for production runs.
- Perform mold changes, including mold installation and removal.
- Prepare machines for production, including startup and shutdown procedures.
- Adjust machine settings and processing parameters as needed.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and molding process problems.
- Monitor machine operation to help maintain product quality and production efficiency.
- Identify and resolve set-up or equipment issues to minimize downtime.
- Follow established safety procedures and production standards.
- Work with production team members to address technical issues and support daily operations.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience in an injection molding technician, molding setup technician, or similar manufacturing role.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Hands-on experience with injection molding machine setup and mold changes.
- Ability to understand machine operations and make appropriate adjustments.
- Technical or vocational training in injection molding, mechanical systems, or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work independently and contribute to a team environment.
Pay and Schedule
- $23–$30 per hour, depending on experience.
