Job Description

Your Role at RedZone Technologies

At RedZone Technologies, we’re looking for a Project Manager to join our Annapolis-based team and own the delivery of technology projects, managed services onboardings, and cybersecurity service engagements for clients throughout Maryland, D.C., and Northern Virginia. This is a hands-on individual contributor role: you will manage your own portfolio of client engagements end to end scheduling and logistics included and work closely with engineers, security consultants, and support teams to get them done.

You will be accountable for delivering onboardings, implementations, projects, and security assessment engagements on time, within budget, and with high customer satisfaction. You will make sure clients are handed off cleanly to our support teams. This role has no direct reports and does not own sales, quoting, or technical architecture. You own making sure what was sold and planned actually gets delivered.

What You’ll Do

Own Delivery Outcomes

  • Deliver every client onboarding, implementation, and project on time, within its hours budget, and with high customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor schedules, hours against budget, and task progress across your active work. Identify risk early and act before it reaches the client.
  • Report delivery health to leadership with clear status, risks, and recommendations.

Coordinate Across Teams

  • Work with engineers, security consultants/testers, and support teams to set priorities and make sure every engagement has a clear owner and a backup.
  • Follow and reinforce documented processes and standards on your engagements, including consistent client communication and timely close-out.
  • Raise quality or process concerns with the right owner and leadership instead of absorbing them.
  • Build strong working relationships across sales, accounting, engineering, and support so work moves smoothly between teams.

Be Hands-On

  • Own a portfolio of concurrent engagements from kick-off through close-out.
  • Coordinate onsite work, technical engagements, kick-off and scheduling meetings, and readiness across engineers, vendors, and clients.
  • Step in on complex or at-risk engagements to get them back on track.
  • Keep project records, status updates, and documentation accurate and current.

Manage Client Onboarding and Hand-Off

  • Make sure new managed services clients are onboarded well: clear expectations, complete information gathering, and a scheduled, well-communicated implementation.
  • Make sure each service is handed off to the support team with complete documentation, access details, and quality review before it goes live.
  • Close out engagements with a clear final hand-off so the client knows exactly who supports them going forward.

Deliver Cybersecurity Service Engagements

  • Manage cybersecurity engagements such as penetration tests, vulnerability assessments, and compliance assessments from kickoff through report delivery, client review, and close-out.
  • Run kickoff calls, gather required client information, and coordinate consultants, testing schedules, and equipment logistics so engagements start and finish on time.
  • Make sure every deliverable completes internal quality review before it reaches the client, and coordinate the delivery of reports and findings, including scheduling and supporting client review calls.
  • Provide proactive status updates throughout each engagement so clients always know where things stand, and flag client-side delays early rather than absorbing them.
  • Handle sensitive client information (such as IP addresses, physical locations, and access details) securely and only through approved systems never over unsecured channels.

Improve How We Work

  • Identify and propose process improvements, and see them through implementation.
  • Run lessons-learned reviews on completed engagements and use them to raise the quality of future delivery.
  • Track and report performance measures for your engagements, including on-time delivery, hours against budget, and client satisfaction.

What We’re Looking For

Experience & Education

  • 3+ years of project management, project coordination, or delivery management in an MSP or IT services environment.
  • Track record of leading cross-functional work and holding others accountable without formal authority.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent client engagements against schedules and hours budgets.
  • Working knowledge of IT infrastructure projects (networking, servers, Microsoft 365, and Azure) sufficient to coordinate technical engagements and understand risk. You do not need to be the hands-on engineer.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity services penetration testing, vulnerability scanning, and compliance frameworks (e.g., CMMC, SOC 2) is a strong plus. You will coordinate these engagements, not perform the testing.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience considered. PMP or similar certification is a plus.

Core Skills & Traits

  • Clear, confident communicator, both verbal and written, with clients, engineers, and leadership.
  • Ownership mindset: takes responsibility for outcomes and follows through.
  • Sound judgment when prioritizing and making tradeoffs between schedule, budget, and client expectations.
  • Ability to influence and align engineers, consultants, and vendors, and to give timely, direct, constructive feedback.
  • Highly organized, process-minded, and detail-oriented, with strong follow-through and accountability.
  • Ability to build trusting relationships with clients while staying focused on solutions and long-term success.

Additional Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing and reliable transportation for occasional client visits throughout MD, DC, and VA.
  • Willingness to support occasional after-hours client cutovers or deployments.
  • This is a hybrid position based out of Annapolis, MD.
