Our team is currently seeking candidates that would be interested in substituting. See below for a list of classes that we are seeking availability for throughout the 2026–2027 Academic Year
Honors Math 6 - Prealgebra: Students formalize the rules of arithmetic learned in elementary school to help them build a rigorous foundation for algebra. They explore a wide range of topics, including number theory, algebra, geometry, counting, statistics, and probability. Students learn advanced problem solving techniques by tackling compelling problems, including many drawn from major national math contests such as MATHCOUNTS and AMC 8.
Honors Math 7 - Intro to Algebra: Students engage with mathematical expressions from an algebraic and geometric perspective. They solve linear and quadratic equations, represent expressions in the Cartesian plane, and develop a deep understanding of functions. Students are also introduced to the rich field of complex numbers. They tackle challenging word problems and advanced problems from contests such as MATHCOUNTS, AMC 8, and AMC 10.
AMC 8/MATHCOUNTS Comprehensive Training: Students prepare for top math contests such as MATHCOUNTS and the AMC 8 and AMC 10. They explore important topics in counting, probability, and number theory, and apply topics in algebra and geometry to advanced problems to sharpen their skills for middle and high school contests.
Honors Math 8 - Intro to Geometry: Students dive into geometry and develop spatial reasoning skills. They learn to dissect geometrical configurations, learn formal proof techniques, and tackle geometry problems on the Cartesian plane. Students explore trigonometry, building a foundation for precalculus. The challenging problems in this course include real questions from MATHCOUNTS, AMC 10, AMC 12, and other prestigious competitions.
Scholars Math 9 - Intermediate Algebra: Students continue their study of algebraic functions and applications, expanding on key Algebra 1 concepts. Students explore the rich field of polynomials and build foundations for calculus through the study of sequences and series. They navigate optimization problems with a study of inequalities and practice with important algebraic forms and functions, solving challenging problems from contests such as AMC 10, AMC 12, AIME, and the HMMT.
Scholars Math 10 - Precalculus: Students explore trigonometry, complex numbers, and two- and three-dimensional vector spaces with emphasis on how these areas of mathematics are related. This helps build a solid foundation for advanced courses like calculus, linear algebra, and physics. Students also tackle challenging problems from contests like the AMC 12, AIME, and HMMT. Our curriculum goes beyond a standard precalculus class and focuses on skills applicable to AP courses and professional STEM fields.
Scholars Math 11 - Calculus: AoPS Calculus is certified by the College Board as an AP® Calculus BC course. Students master single-variable calculus with a rigorous focus on operations and theory. They build a strong foundation for advanced math and success in STEM fields like physics, statistics, and engineering.
AMC 10/12 Comprehensive Training: AoPS has prepared students for the most prestigious high school competitions since 1993. Since 2015, AoPS students have won 53 medals at the International Math Olympiad. Even more have excelled at the USA(J)MO, AIME, and other prestigious math contests. In this course, students study strategies crucial for success on the AMC 10 and 12, AIME, the HMMT, and other major high school contests.
