About the Role

As a Direct Support Professional, you will work alongside individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities, helping them build skills, pursue goals, and participate fully in their communities. This is hands-on, relationship-driven work for someone who wants their effort to matter. You will be a steady, caring presence in the daily lives of the people you serve, encouraging growth while honoring each person's choices and independence.

What You Will Do
  • Provide personal care and daily living assistance, including hygiene, meal preparation, and mobility support, always with patience and respect.
  • Encourage and coach individuals as they develop life skills, social connections, and greater self-reliance.
  • Support participation in community activities, appointments, and recreational outings.
  • Administer medication and follow individualized care plans under the guidance of supervisory staff.
  • Document progress, observations, and incidents accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Promote a safe, welcoming, and caring environment in the home and community.
  • Communicate regularly with team members, families, and support coordinators to keep everyone aligned on each person's needs.
Who Thrives Here

The best people in this role bring empathy, dependability, and genuine warmth. You see potential where others see limits, and you treat every person with the respect they deserve. A caring attitude is not simply preferred here; it is the foundation of successful support. If you find meaning in small victories and lasting relationships, you will feel right at home.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Valid driver's license
  • Reliable transportation preferred for community outings.
  • Ability to pass required background checks and complete state-mandated training.
  • Physical ability to assist with lifting, transfers, and mobility support as needed.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to follow written care plans.
  • Prior experience in caregiving, human services, or a related field is helpful but not required; a caring and teachable spirit matters most.

We will provide the training and mentorship you need to grow. What you bring is the willingness to show up fully for the individuals who count on you, offering consistent and caring support every day.
