Travel RN Medical / Surgical

A leading regional healthcare provider known for patient-centric care is seeking a Travel Medical / Surgical RN in Waterloo. You will care for adult patients recovering from surgery or managing acute illness. This 13-week assignment suits an experienced med/surg nurse who adapts quickly to new units.

• Contract assignment, 90 days with possible extension
• Work setting: onsite
• Openings: 1
• Anticipated start: within the next two to three weeks
• Candidates must live 60 or more miles from the facility

• Assess patients and develop and update care plans
• Administer medications, IV therapy and treatments as ordered
• Monitor vital signs and respond to changes in condition
• Care for pre-operative and post-operative patients
• Educate patients and families on recovery and discharge
• Document care accurately and coordinate with the care team

• Active RN license (Iowa or compact)
• Minimum 2 years of recent medical / surgical experience
• Current BLS certification
• Strong assessment and time management skills
• Must reside 60 or more miles from the facility (travel requirement)

• ACLS certification
• Experience with telemetry or step-down patients
• Epic or similar charting system experience
• Travel or contract assignment experience at multiple facilities
• Strong references from recent clinical managers
• Flexibility to work varied shifts when the unit needs support

• Pay: $54.34 to $56.34 per hour
