Pay rate:
$48.00/hr - $50/hr.Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:Seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit. The candidate must have recent acute-care experience, an active New York single-state LPN license, BLS certification, and EPIC charting experience. The nurse will provide direct patient care, administer medications, monitor patient conditions, and collaborate with the RN and medical team.
Roles And Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to medical-surgical patients under the supervision and support of an RN.
- Assess and monitor vital signs, pain levels, oxygen saturation, blood glucose, and intake/output.
- Administer prescribed medications, including oral, IM, subcutaneous, and feeding-tube medications, within the applicable scope of practice.
- Monitor patients with conditions such as COPD exacerbation, infections, and failure to thrive.
- Perform basic wound care, dressing changes, and JP/Hemovac drain care as assigned.
- Assist with Foley catheter insertion, urine specimen collection, bathing, and oral care.
- Administer oxygen via nasal cannula and manage feeding tubes according to orders and facility protocols.
- Monitor telemetry readings and assist with 12-lead EKG procedures as trained and permitted.
- Perform IV therapy using infusion pumps when authorized by state regulations and facility policy.
- Follow infection prevention protocols, isolation precautions, and patient safety procedures.
- Document patient assessments, medication administration, treatments, and changes in condition in the EPIC electronic medical record.
Required Qualifications
- Active New York single-state LPN license; pending licenses are not accepted.
- Current BLS certification.
- Recent acute-care experience within the last two years.
- Previous experience independently managing a patient assignment with RN support.
- EPIC electronic medical record experience.
- Medical-Surgical/Telemetry experience.
