Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to support capital projects and manufacturing improvements within the food and beverage industry. This is a traveling opportunity ideal for a hands-on project management professional with experience overseeing projects in food processing, beverage production, or industrial manufacturing environments.
Candidates with a consulting or engineering services background are encouraged to apply, particularly those who have managed multiple client projects, coordinated cross-functional teams, and delivered projects from planning through execution.
Travel is required based on project needs. Travel-related expenses will be covered for qualified non-local candidates.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage capital projects, equipment installations, facility upgrades, and manufacturing improvement initiatives within food and beverage facilities.
- Lead projects from initial planning and scope development through execution, commissioning, and final handoff.
- Coordinate contractors, vendors, engineering teams, plant personnel, and other project stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, resource plans, and progress reports.
- Monitor project performance, identify risks, and implement corrective actions to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
- Ensure project activities comply with applicable safety requirements, quality standards, and food manufacturing regulations.
- Facilitate project meetings, communicate status updates, and resolve issues with clients and internal teams.
- Support equipment installation, production line modifications, facility expansions, and process improvement initiatives.
- Manage multiple priorities while adapting to changing project requirements and plant operating schedules.
Qualifications
- Experience managing projects within food and beverage manufacturing, food processing, or a related industrial environment.
- Proven ability to manage project scope, schedules, budgets, contractors, and stakeholder expectations.
- Experience with capital equipment projects, facility upgrades, production lines, or manufacturing operations.
- Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Ability and willingness to travel to manufacturing facilities as project requirements dictate.
- Proficiency with project scheduling and management tools such as Microsoft Project, Excel, or similar platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in consulting, engineering services, owner's representation, or industrial project management.
- Experience supporting multiple clients, facilities, or projects in a consulting capacity.
- Familiarity with food and beverage production equipment, packaging systems, automation, utilities, or process improvements.
- Experience coordinating equipment vendors, construction contractors, commissioning teams, and plant operations.
- Knowledge of food manufacturing safety, sanitation, and regulatory requirements.
Travel & Expenses
- Traveling role with assignments at food and beverage manufacturing facilities.
- Candidates may be based outside the project location.
- Travel expenses will be covered for non-local candidates, subject to the applicable project travel and reimbursement policy.
- Candidates must be comfortable working on-site and traveling as project needs require.
